Cross-Cultural Contemporary Art Project: Jie Qi's Dragon - Autumn Equinox

The Autumn Equinox, or "秋分" (Qiū Fēn), signifies the balance between day and night in nature, marking the transition from the dynamic energy of summer to the calm and reason of autumn. This period represents a state of equilibrium, not just in the changing seasons, but in the idea of equality and cultural exchange. The Autumn Equinox symbolizes respect for cultural diversity while acknowledging individual uniqueness—rationality and inclusiveness coexist in harmony.

At this key moment, Jie Qi's Dragon celebrates with a grand outdoor exhibition. This showcase brings together all the artworks created throughout the year, allowing the dragon to come alive in nature's landscape. The event, on an unprecedented scale, has drawn a large and diverse audience.

This season’s standout young artist, Victoria, perfectly captured the essence of the Autumn Equinox. She ingeniously incorporated ocean waves and autumn leaves into the dragon's form, symbolizing the harmony between the season and nature. Known for her minimalist yet majestic approach, Victoria removed unnecessary details, creating a bold and striking image. This powerful artwork stands as one of the highlights of the Jie Qi's Dragon series.

Jie Qi's Dragon, initiated and curated by Leo (Liu, Xin), merges traditional Chinese solar terms with contemporary art to explore the intersection of culture and nature. Each seasonal node features artworks from different artists, offering their unique interpretations of the seasons. The project is both an artistic exploration and a reflection on environmental sustainability and cultural heritage.
